Tour Overview

Join a night tour of Hobart to see Tasmania's special nocturnal wildlife. We take you to some amazing natural reserves located close to the centre of Hobart to look for nocturnal wildlife, including Southern Brown Bandicoot, Long-nosed Potoroo, Tawny Frogmouth, Common Ringtail Possum, Common Brushtail Possum, Bennett's Wallaby, Tasmanian Pademelon and Tasmanian Morepork.

There is a chance of also sighting Sugar Gliders, Eastern-barred Bandicoot, Eastern Bettong and the endangered Tasmanian subspecies of the Masked Owl and Eastern Quoll.

Climate Conditions

Tasmania is a cool temperate climate, with four distinct seasons. The warmest months are December, January, February and March. Autumn has still, sunny days. Winter runs from May through August. However, the climate can vary greatly – on any given day.

Night Tour of Hobart Wildlife

This evening tour begins with pick-up from your Hobart hotel just after dusk. A specialist Inala guide will transport you to several nature reserves in the Hobart area, to search out a range of nocturnal creatures. This evening tour is approximately three hours long.

Contact us if you would like to add a night tour to one of our day tours departing Hobart, with the option of having dinner with the guide at a quality Hobart restaurant.

We use red lights to spotlight at night, and do not use flash photography. Images and videos may still be taken under red light conditions.
