Pardalote Platform & Bird Watching Hides

Our thoughtfully crafted bird watching hides and viewing platform offer superb opportunities to view and photograph birdlife on the Nature Reserve. We have a purpose-built 4m high platform for viewing the endemic Forty-spotted Pardalote in close proximity. This allows for excellent up-close encounters with this sought after endangered species without any disturbance.
Use the viewing platform and hides when staying with us
When you book one of our accommodation options
, the price of the accommodation includes access to the whole reserve and use of the viewing hides and platforms. You can explore the reserve without a guide, but many of our guests choose to book a 3-hour property tour with one of our specialist guides to get to know birding habitats and discover more about the flora and fauna of this incredible island.
We also have a hide and secluded viewing platform located near water in woodland close to the accommodations. Endemics like Strong-billed and Yellow-throated Honeyeater may be seen bathing, as may the stunning Pink Robin and the shy Olive Whistler. Some of our guests have their most memorable birding moments in these hides just a few minutes' walk from their accommodations!
