One Day - Bruny Tour Package

On these great value, inclusive one day comprehensive tours, you can enjoy many of the natural wonders of Bruny Island, with time to explore many beautiful sites of Bruny at a very enjoyable pace

EXAMPLE DAY TOUR:
Meet your guide at Inala first thing in the morning on your first day and enjoy a wonderful day exploring Inala and Bruny Island

We often begin at the Inala Conservation Reserve where you will walk around the private reserve, home to a variety of threatened species and all 12 Tasmanian endemic birds. This part of the tour gives you the opportunity to observe the Endangered Tasmanian endemic Forty-spotted Pardalote from the purpose-built canopy platform within one of its largest  known colonies. You may also have the chance to view raptors such as the Tasmanian subspecies of the Wedge-tailed Eagle and the white morph of the Grey Goshawk from the raptor viewing hide if they come by during your visit.

You will then then continue on your day tour to explore your choice of many wonderful Bruny Island locations depending on which birds, wildlife, history and landscape you are most interested in.   Locations may include Cloudy Bay, Cape Bruny Lighthouse, Adventure Bay, Mount Mangana, Mavista Rainforest, The Neck, Cape Queen Elizabeth and many other unique and beautiful sites which your expert local guide will explore with you.  Your guide will illuminate and interpret the rich and varied habitats you pass through and inform you about all the wonderful nature that you see.

Enjoy morning tea and a picnic lunch in the field each day at some lovely outdoor/sheltered spots depending on the weather.

EXAMPLE NIGHT TOUR:
After dinner with your guide at a Bruny restaurant,  you will continue on a night tour with your guide to a Short-tailed Shearwater  (Muttonbird) colony to view these birds returning to their burrows from the ocean after dusk and hopefully spot a few Little Penguin amongst the colony. ( Please note: Bruny has a very small breeding colony for the Penguins, yet they can sometimes be viewed throughout the year. It is a large Shearwater colony, they are present for their breeding season between September and April.)

In addition to visiting 'The Neck' colony you will visit other areas of the Island with your guide in search of some of Bruny Island's other nocturnal wildlife such as endemic Tasmanian Pademelons and endangered Eastern Quolls which are now only found in Tasmania, as well as Bennett’s Wallabies and Brush-tailed Possums both of which are also found in a rare near-albino colour morph on Bruny Island. Long-nosed Potoroo, Tawny Frogmouth and Tasmanian Boobook are also possibilities, with an outside chance of seeing an endangered Masked Owl.
It is also possible to see the Southern sky in all its brilliance on a clear night, including the Southern Cross, Milky Way, Orion, various planets and maybe even the Aurora australis during more active solar periods.

Two Day - Bruny Tour Package

On these great value, inclusive two day comprehensive tours, you can enjoy most of the natural wonders of Bruny Island.

With ample time to truly explore the many beautiful sites of Bruny at a very enjoyable pace, you can focus on tracking down specific birds and other animals that may elude you if you were to visit for a shorter time.

EXAMPLE DAY TOURS:

We tailor the following days to suit your interests and will focus on finding any particular birds or wildlife you were hoping to see on Bruny.

There may also be time to visit some different habitats and wetlands on North Bruny. This area of the island only receives half the average annual rainfall of South Bruny, and the very different vegetation and birds on this part of the island reflect this.

This is an island which has many secrets up its sleeves and those who stay for more than a single day are always rewarded by the richness of nature.

Enjoy morning tea and a picnic lunch in the field each day at some lovely outdoor/sheltered spots depending on the weather.
