Meet the Inala Team

I live and work out of my home on the Tablelands in North Queensland. For most of my working life I have been employed as a land manager /ranger working with Traditional Owners across the Kimberly, Top End , Central Australia and Far North Qld.

I have been both formally trained in ecology at the University of QLD and at James Cook University in Townsville and gained first – hand practical knowledge of northern Australian landscapes their cycles, seasons and the plant and animal communities that they support from Indigenous Elders. It is always a rewarding to share this knowledge.

I learnt to birdwatch from my Aunt at an early age on family camping trips in Queensland and the Northern Territory. One of my birding highlights was working on the breeding success of Arctic Terns in the Shetland Islands as a research assistant while travelling in Europe. More recently our Ranger team has set up a bird monitoring program for wetlands on the Indigenous Protected Area where I am employed part – time. I am a native plant enthusiast and love to ID species encountered in the field.
